Use Define Address Template screen to define new templates, which include different set of address components in different order. These address templates are used in the address part at the time of booking customers or defining operational entities.
You can also view the existing address templates and modify the details, if required.
To define or modify an address template:
On the System Administration module, click Basic Configurations, click Geographical, and then click Address Template.
To define a new address template, in the Template Code and the Template Description box, provide the template code and description respectively.
In the Address Elements grid, click the Add link to add the address components/elements. A new row appears in the grid.
Select Element Name from the drop-down.
Enter Display Name of the address element. This name will be displayed on the screen.
Select Validation Type to validate parent element of the address element in the system. You can select the following validation types from the drop-down:
Select From List: Chose this option if you want to set a parent element for the newly created address element. This is required to set geographical hierarchy among the address elements. In this case whenever you select the parent element name, the child element name appears in the drop down list.
Reverse Populate: Chose this option if you want to populate the corresponding parent element names automatically. In this case whenever you enter the child element name, geographical hierarchy wise corresponding parent element names appear automatically in the screen.
Note: Reverse Population is applicable only for Postal Code. Whenever you enter postal code in the address part, the corresponding parent address elements like, Area, City, District, State, Country etc. appear in the screen automatically.
None: Select this option if you do not want to set any parent element for the newly defined address element.
Select Parent Element Name from the drop-down.
Select the Allow Dynamic Add check box if you want to add the address element dynamically while capturing address.
Select the Required check box if the address element is mandatory to be captured.
Repeat the above steps to add multiple address elements in the template.
Click the UP and DOWN arrows to set the display order of the address element in the template.
Click the Save button to save the address template details.
To modify an address template detail, enter Template Code in the given field. Else, click the Search Lookup against the Template Code field. The details appear in Lookup Search pop up window. Select the required Template Code link from the Search Results list in Lookup Search pop up window. The details appear in the screen.
Click the Edit symbol against the Address Elements and modify the details as per the requirement.
Click the Save button to apply the modification.
Note: In an address template it is mandatory to add Country as one of the address element.
