Smart card or chip card or integrated circuit card ( ICC) is a portable pocket-sized card with embedded integrated circuits used for storing and processing information. A smart card can receive inputs processes by the ICC applications and deliver the output.
There are two broad categories of ICC. The Memory Cards contain non-volatile memory storage components, and some specific security logic. But the Microprocessor Cards contain volatile memory and microprocessor components.
Such cards are made up of plastic, generally PVC, but sometimes ABS. The CAS smart cards are used to perform EMM and ECM decryption and interpretation to determine whether the consumer shall be granted access to the content or not.
