In VOIP services, the service providers may use the network of other telecommunication providers/service providers. So, when the customer makes a call, the call is routed through the interconnected network, where each network is owned by different service provider. Customers of a service provider may make a VOIP call to a customer who belongs to another service provider. The service provider has a specific agreement with each interconnected provider. The agreement is a set of rules and terms. A separate fee is collected by the network providers from the service providers for using their network. The Interconnect fee varies based on the call type; international, national, and local. Based on type of the call and usage of the network, network provider will send invoice/bill to network consumer.
In Billing & CRM system, the network provider is known as Partner. The network consumer is known as the service provider. A service provider is also a partner. Billing & CRM solution provisions you to register a partner, book contract, disconnect contracts, generate bills, and make payments to the network provider.
Example: Customer of service provider A has called to a customer of service provider B. The service provider A has to utilize the network of service provider B to complete the call. For this, the service provider A comes into an agreement with the service provider B. This agreement contains the information about the charges to be charged to service provider A. Like this, there may be many calls to and from service provider A & B. At times, A utilizes the network of B and B utilizes the network of A.
